makeup artists. We will also make exceptions to those individuals that
demonstrate a high level of knowledge regarding proper application and have a
good business plan to market our products. This would include individuals such
as former cosmetic salespersons from high end department stores, other cosmetic
line representatives, etc. We also make exceptions on a case by case basis.
We'd like to give those of you interested in our products some background on our corporation, as we actually got our start many years ago with the makeup artists in the movie and television studios. We have only been selling retail for the past few years and that is due to customer requests from those that had previously purchased from studio makeup artists. One of the reason we deal directly with the studio industry is that the cosmeticians are responsible not only for the day's shoot but for the stars' beauty longevity. Our products are all-natural when they need to be and are synthetic when they need to be. As for eyeshadows and facial makeup, the skin is so thin that great care needs to be taken in these areas. Thus, all mineral makeup is used to assure no skin contamination occurs. Our Loose and Pressed Bare Mineral Makeup lines are two of our most popular and best selling lines. We sell the Loose both prepackaed and in bulk. After extensive research and development, we feel it is certainly the best on the market. As you many of you may already know, Bare Escentuals was the original mineral makeup to advertise extensively and they are considered the industry leader. However, their product contains Bismuth Oxychoride, which has caused adverse reactions in many users. We do not use that ingredient in our Loose Bare Mineral Makeup line, nor do we use any preservatives, fillers, dyes, oils or talc in those products.. Our Loose Bare Mineral Foundations contain titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxides, mica and ultramarine blue. The titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are anti-inflamatories and help sooth irritated skin. The zinc oxide has antimicrobial properties. The ultramarine blue, which is a non-irritating and non-sensitizing mineral has excellent heat stability, light fastness and solvent resistance. It is also a necessary component in a balanced palette of warm and cool colors. Ultramarine is famous for having been the most expensive pigment in the 14th and 15th centuries and today it still reigns supreme. You will find our mineral foundations to have the highest quality, superior consistency and long lasting semi permanent qualities due to our exclusive formulations. Bare Escentuals was the original mineral makeup, however, as mineral makeup becomes more popular, it is copied. However, the upside is that the product can also be improved, which we feel that we have done. Some copies are far inferior due to either the ingredients utilized and also due to the practice of cutting the pure mineral makeup with inferior ingredients. My husband is a police officer, now a Captain thank God, who for years worked narcotics. He's explained to us that is how street criminals make money on cocaine! The first dealer pays a certain amount, say $1, for "pure product" from the grower in some place like Colombia. He then smuggles it across the border and charges the next guy $2.00. That guy then "steps on it" with some form of "cut" to, in some cases double the weight. That guy then resells it to someone else who steps on it again and sells it to someone else who steps on it again and by the time it gets to the consumer, it's about 25% cocaine and 75% cut with a price tag of $75.00!!! Mineral make up is the same thing only its legally "stepped on" with cheaper "cut" and usually that "cut" is talc. The problem with that is that talc is so fine and absorbent, it gets into the pores of the skin, sticks to the sides of the pore, enlarges the pore, harbors oils and water and begins infections that, even when they clear up, they leave the pores enlarged. One time and it may not be noticeable but over time, pores enlarge to the point that its very noticeable. As consumers become more educated, the mineral makeup companies are using other ingredients to cut their mineral makeup, which can be equally harmful, however, consumers will often times not recognize these other harmful ingredients by their scientific names.
